Chicken-Fried Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    8 thin slices round steak or minute steak (1 lb.)
    1 large egg, beaten
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1 c. water or milk
    additional salt and freshly ground pepper (optional)
Preparation
    On a plate, mix bread crumbs with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
    Dip beef into beaten egg, then into bread crumbs.
