Country-Fried Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Bisquick
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. paprika
    1 lb. beef round steak, cut into serving-size pieces
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Blend baking mix, salt, pepper and paprika.
    Coat meat pieces. (Reserve remaining seasoned mixture.)
    Cook meat in hot shortening until brown.
    Add 1/4 cup of the water.
    Cover and cook over low heat about 2 hours or until meat is tender.
    Remove meat to platter.
    Add 1 cup of water to drippings in skillet.
    Stir together 2 tablespoons of the reserved seasoned mixture and remaining 1/4 cup of water.
    Gradually stir into drippings.
    Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
    Boil and stir 1 minute.
    Pour over meat.
    Makes 4 servings.
