Quick Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. cooked roast beef
    1 1/2 c. gravy
    1 onion, sliced
    12 tsp. ground cloves or 8 whole cloves
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 c. vinegar
    2 lemon slices
    1/2 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in a glass bowl for about 1 hour.
    Turn meat after 30 minutes.
    After meat and spices have set for an hour place in a heavy pan and heat for about 45 minutes.
    This is a good recipe if meat is a little tough; it will become tender and delicious.
    Thicken gravy.
    Serve over spatzle or noodles.
