Louise'S Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. box light brown sugar
    6 eggs
    1 lb. butter
    5 c. self-rising flour
    1 lb. chopped dates
    5 c. chopped pecans or 4 c. pecans and 1 c. walnuts, chopped
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add flour alternately with eggs.
    Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly.
    Batter will be stiff.
