Ingredients

2 sticks butter
1/3 c. granulated sugar
4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 tsp. ground mace
2/3 c. dark molasses
Preparation

In
bowl
cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients and molasses;
mix well.
Chill 2 hours.
On
lightly floured surface, roll out dough to 1/8-inch thickness.
Using
3-inch cookie cutter (heart shaped), cut out cookies.
Place on greased baking sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
