Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. pure vanilla
    approximately 4 1/2 c. rock salt
    6 eggs
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 c. half and half
    2 (10 lb.) bags crushed ice
Preparation
    Beat eggs well; add sugar, milk and salt and mix well. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Remove from heat; add vanilla and then half and half. Cool and pour into ice cream freezer. Freeze as directed.
