Turtle Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 German chocolate cake mix
14 oz. pkg. vanilla caramels (unwrapped)
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
2 Tbsp. evaporated milk
6 oz. (1 c.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
In medium saucepan over low heat, combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; stir constantly until caramels are melted.
In a large bowl, combine cake mix, nuts, margarine and 2 tablespoons evaporated milk.
Mix well.
Press half of dough into bottom of ungreased 13 x 9-inch pan; reserve remaining dough for topping.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
Sprinkle chips evenly over top of crust.
Carefully spread caramel mixture over chips.
Crumble reserved dough over caramel mixture.
Return to oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until filling is set. Cool completely; cut into squares.
Makes 36 bars.
