Boston Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    3 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg, beaten
    2 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ginger
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1/2 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over raisins and let stand until cool. Cream sugar and butter together.
    Add egg.
    Sift together dry ingredietns and add to creamed mixture.
    Add raisins, vanilla and nuts.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Makes 2 loaves or 4 cans (ungreased; use 1 pound coffee cans or vegetable cans).
