My Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3 to 4 potatoes, cubed
    1 c. milk and 1 c. water or 2 c. milk
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in medium sized pot (heavy to keep from scorching).
    Simmer over low to medium heat, stirring occasionally until potatoes are done.
    Grated cheese may be added to top after cooked.
