Chunky Country-Style Spiced Applesauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. Granny Smith apples, cored, peeled and sliced
    2 lb. golden Delicious apples, cored, peeled and sliced
    2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. ground cardamon
Preparation
    Combine apples, water and lemon juice in a large Dutch oven; bring to a boil over high heat.
    Reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes (apples should be tender).
