Miss Frances Stephens' Pineapple Cake For A Crowd - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can crushed pineapple
    1 c. flaked coconut
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
Preparation
    Mix 3/4 cup undrained pineapple with coconut and set aside. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together.
    Work shortening until soft, then add sugar until mixture is creamy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat after each one.
    Mix flour mixture and remaining undrained pineapple into batter alternately. Pour into baking pan.
    Sprinkle batter with pineapple and coconut mixture and chocolate morsels.
    Bake 25 minutes at 325\u00b0 in greased pan.
