Hot Fudge Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    4 oz. sq. unsweetened chocolate
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    13 oz. can evaporated milk
Preparation
    Combine butter and chocolate in top of double boiler.
    Cook over hot (not boiling) water until melted.
    Gradually stir in sugar, 1/4 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. Mixture will be very thick and dry.
    Add salt and milk slowly, stirring constantly.
    Serve hot.
    Yields 4 cups.
