Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. onions
    4 lb. cabbage
    24 green tomatoes
    6 c. sugar
    5 c. vinegar
    12 sweet peppers
    4 hot peppers
    4 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 box pickle spices, tied in cloth
Preparation
    Grind peppers, onions, cabbage and tomatoes.
    Add salt and let stand 2 or 3 hours.
    Pour off juice.
