Grandma'S Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Irish potatoes, peeled and diced
    1 stalk celery, diced
    1 lb. okra, cut in pieces
    1/4 small cabbage, chopped
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 small can Niblets corn or 1 c. fresh corn
    2 large cans tomatoes
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. Texas Pete hot sauce
    1/4 c. bacon or fat meat drippings
    1/4 c. rice
    1/2 c. large elbow macaroni (optional)
Preparation
    Simmer all ingredients, except rice and macaroni for 45 minutes.
    Add rice and macaroni; cook for 20 minutes longer.
    May be seasoned with beef or beef stock, also.
