Momma Hardester'S Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. flour
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
2 eggs and 1 egg yolk
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla or almond
Preparation

Sift the dry ingredients together.
Then work in the softened shortening until the consistency of corn meal.
Add the eggs and 1/2 the milk; beat 2 minutes.
Add the remainder of milk and the flavoring.
Beat about 2 minutes.
Fold in the chopped nuts. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour in greased and floured tube pan.
