Elegant Onion Rings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. cooking oil
    1/2 c. flour
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    garlic salt
    2 large onions
    1 c. flour
    oil for frying
Preparation
    In a small bowl blend oil and flour with fork.
    Add egg then milk, a little at a time.
    Stir in garlic salt, beat until smooth. Batter will be thin.
    Peel onions, cut into slices.
    Separate into rings.
    Put several rings at a time into paper sack with 1 cup of flour.
    Shake gently to coat.
    Put rings into batter. Remove one at a time with a fork and drop into hot oil (375\u00b0). Turn once; take up when golden brown on both sides.
    Salt to taste.
