Ginger Creams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 c. dark molasses
    1/2 c. water
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. ginger
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Mix shortening, sugar, egg, molasses and water thoroughly. Blend in remaining ingredients.
    Cover; chill 1 hour.
    Drop dough by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto greased baking sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 8 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger.
    Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
