Tasty Taco Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 c. water
    1 small head lettuce, washed and torn up
    1 (15 1/2 oz.) can kidney beans, drained
    1 small purple onion, diced or chopped
    commercial spicy red salad dressing
    1 1/4 oz. envelope taco seasoning
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. tortilla chips
    2 1/2 c. (10 oz.) shredded Longhorn cheese
    2 medium tomatoes, diced
Preparation
    Cook beef in a large skillet until browned. Stir until crumbled; drain fat.
    Add taco seasoning and water.
    Simmer 10 minutes. Cool slightly.
    In a large bowl, layer half each of the tortilla chips, meat mixture, lettuce, cheese, kidney beans, tomatoes and onion.
    Repeat layers.
    Serve immediately with salad dressing.
    Serves 6 to 8.
