Beef Tomato Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. 12 oz. can chopped but not drained tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms (undrained)
    1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
    3 c. water
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. sweet basil
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter; add beef and brown well.
    Drain off excess grease.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Bring to boil, stirring frequently.
    Simmer, covered, 25 minutes, or until serving time.
    Serves 8 to 10.
