Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. cardamon or caraway seed
    1/2 c. margarine
    1 egg
    1 3/4 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. raisins, soaked in 1/2 c. bourbon
Preparation
    Sift the dry ingredients; cut in the margarine with a pastry blender until the flour is crumbly.
    Beat the egg and the buttermilk with the raisins; add to the dry ingredients and blend until just mixed.
    Knead until smooth.
    Divide into 2 loaves. Place in an 8-inch pan.
    Press down lightly.
    Cut cross in top. Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 or 40 minutes.
