Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. flour
3/4 c. vegetable shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. baking powder
1 yeast cake
1/2 c. lukewarm water
Preparation

Dissolve yeast cake in water.
Sift dry ingredients together; cut in shortening thoroughly.
Add buttermilk in dissolved yeast and mix with spoon until flour is moistened.
Take out enough for a meal, roll on floured board, cut with cutter and place in shallow greased pan.
Let raise and bake about 12 to 16 minutes. Place remaining dough in refrigerator.
