Ingredients

1 (8 oz.) pkg. chopped dates
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Combine dates and water in a small saucepan.
Cook over medium heat 3 minutes or until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Stir in pecans.
Cool.
