Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 small pkg. candied cherries
1 1/2 lb. pitted dates
4 c. shelled pecans
Preparation

Cream together shortening; add sugar and eggs.
Add
flour and baking powder.
Mix well.
Add dates, nuts and vanilla.
Bake for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 300\u00b0.
This cake stays moist indefinitely.
