Kith 'N Kin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. oats (quick or old-fashioned), uncooked
    2/3 c. canned sauerkraut, drained and chopped
Preparation
    Beat butter until creamy.
    Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition.
    Blend in eggs and vanilla.
    Sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
    Alternately add flour mixture with oats and water to butter mixture.
    Mix well.
    Fold in sauerkraut.
    Grease bottoms of two 8-inch round baking pans lined with waxed paper.
    Grease again and flour.
    Pour batter into prepared pans.
    Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Remove from pans.
    Cool on racks.
