Pecan Roll - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2/3 c. evaporated milk
    pat of butter
    1 box pitted dates
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cook sugar, milk and butter to soft-ball stage.
    Add dates and stir until dissolved.
    Add pecans.
    Stir until firm.
    Pour on buttered freezer paper and make into roll.
    Refrigerate.
