Ingredients

2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter gradually.
Add sugar and cream until light and fluffy.
Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
Sift together flour, soda and salt. Gradually add to cream mixture, beating well after each addition.
Divide dough into 6 parts.
