Pineapple-Banana Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. vanilla wafers
    2 sticks butter
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 large crushed pineapple
    4 large bananas
    1 pt. whipping cream or 1 large Cool Whip
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar; add 1 egg, beating 3 minutes after each egg.
    Add vanilla.
    Spread 2/3 of the crushed vanilla wafers into a buttered 9 x 14-inch Pyrex dish.
    Spread creamed mixture over crumbs.
    Top with drained pineapple; add a layer of sliced bananas.
    Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip.
    Sprinkle remaining crumbs on top.
    Chill overnight.
