New England Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 slices bacon or salt pork
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
    2 cans (6 oz. each) minced clams with liquid
    1 c. half and half
    1/2 c. whipping cream (optional))
    1/2 c. finely chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. bottled clam juice
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
Preparation
    In a large heavy saucepan or skillet, saute bacon or pork, until brown and crisp.
    Remove.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Dice or crumble.
