Buttermilk Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. hot water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream the shortening and sugar; add 1 egg at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Dissolve soda in hot water and add to buttermilk.
    Add buttermilk and flour with salt alternately.
    Add vanilla; beat well.
    Pour in floured tube pan with wax paper liner on bottom.
    Bake 1 hour and 35 minutes at 300\u00b0.
