Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 large fryer or hen
1 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 c. chicken broth
1/4 tsp. salt
1 stick butter
Preparation

Boil chicken in generous amount of water until tender; add salt and pepper to taste.
Add butter.
Mix flour and salt.
Add warm chicken broth to make a firm dough.
Divide into 2 parts and roll thin on floured board.
Have at least 2 quarts of broth in large pot with cooked chicken and bring to a full boil.
Cut dough into strips and drop into boiling broth, one piece at a time.
Cook uncovered at least 10 minutes.
Reduce heat and cook 20 minutes more, covered.
