Icebox Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. salt
    4 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts, chopped fine
Preparation
Cream together butter, shortening and sugars.
    Add eggs; cream again.
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add to creamed mixture; blend.
    Stir in vanilla and nuts.
    This is a stiff dough.
Mold into long squares or rectangles, or press into foil boxes or juice cans, to shape.
    Refrigerate overnight or freeze.
Slice thin. Place 1/2 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 7 to 8 minutes.
    Remove from cookie sheet quickly.
Cool on a rack. Empty foil boxes or cans are good \"shapers\" and all cookies will be the same size.
These cookies will keep indefinitely, if you hide them!
