Fresh Apple Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/3 c. apples (Johnston are best), cored and chopped coarsely
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. oil
    2 eggs
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. allspice
    2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Chop enough apples to make 2 1/3 cups.
    Pour sugar over apples; let stand 10 minutes.
    Add oil and eggs to apple mixture. Sift remaining ingredients together.
    Add dry mixture to apple mixture.
    Then fold in 1 cup raisins and 1 cup chopped nuts.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Use a 13 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
