White Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    5 egg whites
Preparation
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt 3 times.
    Cream the shortening and sugar until very light. Add flour mixture alternating with milk and beat until smooth and light.
    Add vanilla and egg whites beaten very stiff; fold in well.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 minutes. Makes 3 layers.
