Portuguese Sweet Bread(A San Jose Specialty) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 pkg. yeast
    1 c. plus 1 pinch sugar
    1/4 c. warm water
    5 to 6 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. skim milk
    3 eggs
    1 stick butter, melted
    1 egg, beaten
Preparation
    In a small bowl, sprinkle yeast and pinch of sugar over warm water.
    Let stand 2 to 3 minutes; then stir to dissolve yeast; set aside for 5 to 6 minutes.
    In a deep mixing bowl, combine 1 cup sugar, 4 cups flour and salt.
    Make a well in center and pour in yeast, milk and 3 eggs.
    Stir until mixed and beat until well mixed.
    Beat in butter and add 2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup at a time, until dough can be made into a soft ball.
