California Scotch Broth - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. lean ground lamb (you can ask the butcher to grind all or part of a small leg of lamb if they don't carry ground lamb)
    salt to taste
    2 qt. water
Preparation
    Over medium heat, brown ground lamb in a heavy skillet, breaking into small pieces.
    Salt to taste and drain off all fat. Put well drained browned meat into a 4-quart kettle or pot.
    Add 2 quarts of water and bring to a boil over medium heat.
