Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
3/4 tsp. ginger
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation

Pour boiling water over shortening.
Add sugar, molasses and well beaten egg.
Mix well.
Add sifted dry ingredients.
Beat until smooth.
Bake in waxed paper lined 8-inch square pan at 325\u00b0 for 35 minutes, or until done.
Serve with whipped cream or Dream Whip.
