Simnel Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 large eggs
    2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. currants
    1 c. chopped fruit (fresh or canned, drained)
    almond paste or Solo almond filling
    almonds, blanched
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar until smooth.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition.
    Dredge a little flour over fruit.
    Sift rest of flour with salt and add gradually.
    Stir in fruit.
