Oatmeal Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. milk
pinch of salt
3 c. oatmeal
1 Tbsp. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Boil for 2 minutes first 5 ingredients, stir in peanut butter and vanilla, then stir in oatmeal.
Stir fast and drop on wax paper with teaspoon.
Let cool until you can pick them off.
If double recipe, use 5 cups oats.
If desired, add 1/2 cup nuts.
