Turtle Fudge - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
3/4 c. oleo
1 small can Pet milk
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
30 caramels, quartered
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine sugar, oleo and milk in heavy saucepan (2 1/2 to 3-quart size).
Bring to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes over medium heat until candy thermometer reaches 234\u00b0 or soft ball stage, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat; add chocolate and stir until well blended.
Add remaining ingredients and beat until well blended.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cool at room temperature.
Cut into squares.
Makes 3 1/2 pounds.
