German Potato Pancakes (Kartoffelpuffer) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 medium potatoes
    1 medium onion
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. fresh parsley, finely chopped
    dash of nutmeg
    bacon fat
    vegetable oil or shortening (for frying)
Preparation
    Peel and shred (or grate) potatoes and onion.
    Place them in a large bowl.
    In a small bowl, beat the egg.
    Gradually add the flour, salt, parsley and nutmeg, beating with a wire whisk.
    Pour the mixture over the shredded potatoes and onion, stirring to combine.
