Swiss Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    2 lb. round steak, cut 1-inch thick
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 (4 oz.) can mushroom pieces
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1/2 green pepper, finely chopped
    1 c. tomato (canned or fresh)
Preparation
    Combine flour with salt and pepper and pound into meat.
    In preheated skillet at 325\u00b0, melt shortening.
    Brown meat on both sides.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Reduce heat to 225\u00b0.
    Cook, uncovered, for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Serve with vegetable gravy. Makes 6 servings.
