Ingredients

1 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
1/8 tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. coarse pepper
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
2 eggs
1/3 c. flat beer or milk
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
Preparation

Combine dry ingredients.
Mix well.
Add remaining ingredients and stir until smooth and evenly blended.
Cover and chill at least one hour.
Thin if necessary with beer or milk.
This is a great batter for fried hard crabs, crab cakes or fish fillet/cakes.
