Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    2 c. quick oats
Preparation
    Cream shortening with firmly packed brown sugar; add eggs (well beaten), soda (dissolved in boiling water) and vanilla.
    Mix flour and oats together.
    Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 (in hot oven) for about 18 minutes.
