Peanut Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. honey
    3/4 c. maple syrup
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 c. roasted peanuts
Preparation
    Pour honey and maple syrup into saucepan and cook until a small amount of mixture forms a hard ball when dropped into very cold water (255\u00b0 F on candy thermometer).
    Remove from heat, add soda and cream of tartar; mix well.
    Stir in nuts and pour into buttered 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan.
    Cool and cut into squares.
    Makes sixty-four 1 inch squares.
