Chocolate Chip Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. shortening
    2/3 c. butter, softened
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour (if using self-rising flour, omit soda and salt)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    2 (6 oz. each) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
Preparation
    Heat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
    Cool slightly before removing from baking sheet.
    Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
