Ingredients

1 lb. softened butter
2 egg yolks
4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg shell water
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar together.
Add egg yolks to water; lightly mix and add to butter/sugar mixture.
Add flour gradually and combine completely.
Separate dough into four sections and form each into a roll about an inch and a half in diameter.
Wrap each roll in wax paper and refrigerate at least overnight.
Slice each roll about 1/4-inch; place on cookie sheet.
Paint each slice with a glaze of egg white, mixed with ground nutmeg.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until brown.
