Filbert Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. cake flour
    chopped nuts (from yield of 1 lb. unshelled filberts)
Preparation
    Chop nuts fine with food processor; soften butter.
    Add sugar and vanilla.
    Mix together all ingredients.
    Roll between sheets of waxed paper.
    Chill if dough gets sticky.
    Don't add more flour.
    A little powdered sugar will do.
    Cut in fancy shapes.
    Bake 12 minutes at 300\u00b0 to a light brown.
    Cool and decorate with pink and green icing.
