Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 whole chicken
    3 Tbsp. shortening
    1 1/2 c. flour
    3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Boil chicken until cooked through.
    Take chicken out of pan; set aside broth.
    Debone chicken and place meat back into broth. Heat broth and chicken to boiling.
    While broth is heating, cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles fine crumbs.
    Stir in milk.
    After broth starts boiling, drop dough by spoonfuls onto chicken.
    Cook uncovered 10 minutes.
    Cover and cook about 10 minutes longer.
    Makes 8 to 10 dumplings.
