Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. oatmeal
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 c. coconut
Preparation

Cream the first 3 ingredients together.
Add eggs and vanilla to the shortening, white sugar and brown sugar.
Sift dry mixture and mix into the shortening mixture.
When all is mixed, shape into balls the size of walnuts.
Flatten with fork.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
Chocolate bits can be added to part of batter for variety.
