Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. unbleached flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
1 c. raisins
1 egg (at room temperature)
2 Tbsp. liquid shortening
1 1/2 c. (estimated) buttermilk (at room temperature)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
Put dry ingredients in mixing bowl and stir.
Add raisins and stir.
Add egg and shortening and stir. Gradually add buttermilk until you have a firm, but not stiff, dough (like a biscuit dough).
Put on a lightly floured board and knead for about 2 minutes until dough becomes smooth.
